Florida Governor urged Trustees to suspend the President of the FAMU school

(CNN) -Florida gov. Rick Scott “has been highly recommended” the Trustees of Florida A

Scott told the Chairman of the Board of Trustees, FAMU’s Solomon l. Badger III, that he felt that the Council should take further action against the University President James Ammons when meeting Monday, the statement said. The Governor also “placed a call” to Ammons to notify him of this conversation.

“I think in the best interest (to) make sure that there is no question that it is doing the right thing and work together,” Scott said Thursday.

The discussions come after Scott returned Thursday from a trade mission to Israel and was told by staff on recent developments of University Tallahassee, according to the Governor’s Office.

Ammons said Thursday that he was “convinced that this investigation will determine that, under my leadership, the Administration acted appropriately.” At the same time, he said he was not prepared to accept his fate.
