But the crisis ravaging floods the country has brought out the best in some of them, as they learn to channel their physical energy in a more constructive.
This is the case with students from Pathumwan Institute of Technology, who volunteered to help victims of flooding in some areas in Bangkok and surrounding provinces as part of a flood relief project under the auspices of the Supreme Patriarch.
Every day, in groups of 10 students from the Institute take turns filling the pockets of the supply of aid, and improvements to the vehicle assembly line ships damaged by the floodwaters.
Winas Thadthiam, a teacher at the Institute, said he stressed the importance of student volunteers to keep a cool head when speaking to the flood victims endure suffering for weeks or even months.
